After losing our beautiful Maw-Maw in 2017 our family decided to buy the beach house that she always 'dreamed' of. After months of searching, we finally found a neglected, overgrown cottage on Willoughby Spit. Much love, sweat, and toil was poured into creating our family vacation home. We decided to lovingly call the cottage 'Bay Dream'. Even though we are missing a piece of our family she will always be with us through the dream that she had. These walls hold a lot of special memories for us and we are honored to be able to share our vacation home with you. Cozy beach cottage nestled in the picturesque town of Norfolk on the Chesapeake Bay. Place was very clean and stocked with everything we needed from coffee/filters to bath towels and detergent. Nice open layout of plenty of room for family to gather in living room/kitchen area. We took Bettys recommendations for dinner at several places nearby on the water and they were all fantastic! Went to First Landing State Park which was a great place to spend day on the beach, has all the amenities you need and more. Just a quick 30 minute drive to VA beach if you want more of the tourist experience but we really fell in love with the Bay and can't wait to return. Thank you Betty for sharing your lovely beach home with us, we made memories to last a lifetime!

We had a great family vacation at the cottage and would gladly go again. The beach was a 2 block walk away. One of the most secluded beaches we went to. The cottage is the perfect central location between Williamsburg and Virginia Beach, for tourist purposes. We enjoyed ourselves very much and will recommend to family and friends. We only get this life once, make a memory with your loved ones at the Bay Dream Cottage.

We had a great visit to Norfolk at Bay Dream Cottage! Betty and Savanah were so welcoming and responsive at every turn. The cottage was perfect for our family to spread out in. We enjoyed relaxing in the rocking chairs and eating out on the porch. Inside was immaculate and had everything we could possibly think of for our long weekend away. The beds were really comfortable! Out kids enjoyed wading and using the sand toys on the bay-side beach at the end of the road as well as playing on the playground and jumping in the waves at the Ocean View municipal beach (we didn't end up walking to the other beach access from the house but it looked very easy to get to). We enjoyed the Willoughby Fish House and Mudita coffeehouse both very close by. When our daughter left a favorite toy figurine hiding under a nightstand after our stay, Savanah and Betty went out of their way to make sure it came home to us. We would absolutely stay here again next time we are in Norfolk!
