Soon after we started our first vacation home, Bay Dream Cottage, we knew we wanted to add more homes to our collection. Our realtor showed us a property being built just 10 minutes away from our first home. We were so excited to be able to build a home from the ground up and add all the beautiful touches to truly make it into a wonderful vacation home. Bay Lake Escape was completed in April of 2019. It is nestled along the banks of Pretty Lake and just minutes away from the Chesapeake (so naturally we named it “Bay Lake”). This Charleston inspired home boasts two balconies and a relaxing backyard with a fire pit and a majestic water oak. The living room has cable television and a big sectional sofa for fun movie nights! Upstairs offers two queen bedrooms and the cutest bunk room! Precious memories are waiting to be had at Bay Lake Escape.

We absolutely loved Bay Lake Escape! Betty is very accommodating and responds within minutes! She was very helpful and allowed us to book last minute. She is definitely a super host!
The house was spotless and immaculate. I love how the house is decorated. Betty has great style!
The location is perfect. Only 20 minutes to downtown Norfolk and 15 minutes from the airport. A quick 5-10 minute walk to Ocean View/East Beach. There are beach accesses on every odd number of Bay Street(s). We used the 11th Bay St access. It is a very quiet and relaxing beach. There are chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys located in the storage box on the front porch.
I highly recommend staying at this house! It is great for groups and families.

Perfect. The house is beautiful and open, equipped with everything you might need. Betty is an amazing host with an equally great response time to any questions (usually within a few minutes!) asked. This was my first time using AirBnb and it was such a pleasure. Location-wise, the house is great, too. We had kids with us, and were only five blocks away from a large park/playground, and across the street from that was beach access. Great house, great location, great host!

This place is absolutely amazing. It is beautifully situated beside a huge lake. The house was extremely clean with everything needed. The beds slept well, and we enjoyed the space to just hang out with family! Truly a home away from home.
